Notices of Assessment need to be sent by Townships to homeowners by March 1. PLEASE NOTE, if you believe that your taxable and/or assessed value is incorrect, you may protest to the Local Board of Review, but you have a VERY limited time in which to do so. Please check your Notice of Assessment for your Township’s Board of Review dates and times (in March). Most Townships allow non-residents to appeal by letter, enclosing a completed State Tax Commision Board of Review Petition (L-4035). Visit http://www.michigan.gov/documents/l4035f_2658_7.pdf for the form.
